PRINCE ANDREW’S STRATEGY TO ASSAULT CASE IS DAMAGING THE MONARCHY, AIDES FEAR

PRINCE Andrew is being failed by his lawyers whose “wall of silence” strategy towards sex abuse claims is damaging the monarchy, aides fear.

Royal sources say the Duke’s “policy of evasion” regarding the serving of legal papers by his accuser Virginia Giuffre’s lawyers gives the impression he “has something to hide.”

Royal insiders told the Telegraph: “There is growing disquiet over the advice being given to the Duke by his London legal team in the face of this potentially highly damaging lawsuit which also has wider reputational implications for the institution of the monarchy.

“The legal team’s wall of silence and policy of evasion only adds to the impression [that] the Duke has something to hide and there is widespread concern that things have been allowed to get to this point.”

The Duke of York is set to face a lawsuit in the US after the High Court in the UK agreed to serve him papers.

This week, Andrew’s lawyer argued the case should be dismissed and branded it “baseless” during a 30-minute telephone pre-trial hearing.

WHAT ARE THE THREE TITLES GIVEN TO PHILIP WHEN ELIZABETH II BECAME QUEEN?

When Prince Philip married the Queen in 1947 he was also given three other titles:

    • Duke of Edinburgh
    • Earl of Merioneth
    • Baron Greenwich

In 1957, the Queen made him an official Prince of the United Kingdom – which she made official in a new letters patent.

WHAT WAS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S MILITARY RANK?

Prince Philip joined the Royal Navy in 1939 when he was just 18. He graduated from the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth before going on to serve in World War II.

Appointed a midshipman at the start of 1940, Philip served on the battleship HMS Ramillies, later being posted on HMS Kent and HMS Shropshire.

He was later commissioned as a sub-lieutenant before being promoted to lieutenant in July 1942.

Just months later, he became the first lieutenant of HMS Wallace – making him one of the youngest in that position in the Royal Navy at just 21 years old.

He ultimately reached the rank of commander in 1952.v Philip also holds a number of honorary ranks including Captain General of the Royal Marines.

He was appointed Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom in 2011

ANDREW ‘SET TO FIRE SHAMBOLIC LEGAL TEAM’ AND IS ‘EXTREMELY WORRIED’ ABOUT CASE

Virginia Giuffre – a trafficked slave of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein – is attempting to sue the 61-year-old in a New York court after alleging she was forced to have sex with him three times when she was 17.

Andrew has always strongly denied the claims – but is now “in a full-on crisis” and is dissatisfied with his lawyers’ strategy of not publicly responding to Ms Giuffre’s legal bid, reports the Mirror.

The prince hired criminal defence solicitor Gary Bloxsome, a partner at Blackfords law firm, early last year and after Ms Giuffre announced her plans to sue, Andrew reportedly urged his team to release a statement denying her allegations.

But it’s understood he was overruled and is now considering ditching his legal team following emergency discussions with his team.

A source close to him told the Mirror: “The plan, if you can call it a plan, has been shambolic from the start.

“Now it’s all come to a head. He is extremely worried and the crisis talks are so he can get off the back foot. He knows he’s in a full-on crisis.”

ANDREW REPORTEDLY BRACING HIMSELF FOR LEGAL BATTLE THAT COULD GO ON FOR YEARS

The 61-year-old is reportedly “worried” and not his usual self after feeling confident the allegation would be dropped.

He is reportedly bracing himself for a legal battle that could go on for years and end up costing him millions of pounds.

PRINCESS BEATRICE AND HUSBAND EDOARDO MOZZI GUSH THEY ARE ‘DELIGHTED’ AS THEY ANNOUNCE BIRTH OF BABY GIRL

Buckingham Palace confirmed the happy news this afternoon after the new mum, 32, welcomed her daughter into the world on Saturday, September 18.

The Queen's granddaughter and her husband, multi-millionaire property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, welcomed the tot on Saturday.

The Palace said today: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

"The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

"The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf."

DIANA PREDICTED SHE WOULD DIE ‘FROM BRAKE FAILURE AND SERIOUS HEAD INJURY’ IN NOTE

She even wrote a letter two years before her death claiming that Prince Charles was plotting to kill her so he could marry Ms Legge-Bourke.

In the note, Diana predicted she would die through “brake failure and serious head injury”.

The princess is said to have been obsessed with the mistaken idea of an affair – a false allegation deeply upsetting to the younger nanny.

Mark Stephens, a media lawyer with the law firm Howard Kennedy, said: “The BBC’s handling of Bashir was a catastrophe turned into a disaster and as a consequence, the corporation recognises the least said, the soonest mended.”

Bashir denies faking documents connected to the nanny. He says notes made by Earl Spencer and attributed to him were in fact comments made by the princess.
