Marks and Spencer launch a dupe of Meghan Markle’s favourite belted coat at a fraction of the price
3rd March 2019

The 37-year-old royal has been seen in a range of belted wrap coats throughout the winter months, in an array of fabrics and colours to match the mood of any special occasion.

While the Duchess is often spotted in costly designer versions, the high street has caught on to the trend and now many copy-cat coats are hitting the shelves so we can copy her look.

Marks & Spencer, H&M, Dorothy Perkins and Boden have all reproduced coats worthy of a Duchess, but with a price that is sure to catch the eye of shoppers everywhere.

The belted coat is thought to be flattering to most figures, and can be easily adjusted to switch up the fit – making it perfect for those like Megan with a blossoming bump.

"The wrap around coat is a great way to help flatter and define your shape," celebrity stylist Rochelle White told Femail. "And it's so versatile that it can be worn either relaxed or dressy."

The Classic Camel

Marks & Spencer is stocking this lookalike which looks similar to the coat worn by the Duchess of Sussex to the Sandringham Christmas church service back in 2017.

Just like Meghan's trendy camel coat from Canadian brand Sentaler, the Herringbone Wrap Coat comes in a warm almond shade in the same belted wrap style.

Marks & Spencer's coat has a detachable belt, so you can still wear it open and flowy in spring, and is made from a blend of wool.

But while the Duchess' go-to costs an eye-watering £1,085, the high street version is much more affordable, coming in at £129, a fraction of the price.

And it's selling fast – it's already sold out in two sizes online, so you're going to have to be quick to get your hands on one.

Royally Red

Loving her camel coat so much, Megan snapped up the same Sentaler wrap coat in a bold red.

The Duchess wore the coat during her visit to Merseyside with Prince Harry in January, their first royal engagement of the year, where they visited World War One poet Wilfred Owen's grave.

But you don't have to pay the same £1,000 price tag to get your hands on one, as Boden has released their own version that will set you back £110.

On sale from £220, the coat comes in the same vibrant hue, has a wool mix belt that detaches from the coat and has large front welt pockets that mirror the Duchess' own look.

A Nice Neutral

The neutral wrap coat has been one of Meghan's wardrobe staples since her first royal debut – and there's no surprise, with it's elegant and flawless look.

The former Suits actress was spotted in a white belted coat when the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry back in 2017 was revealed to the public.

And she chose a similar look, a Mackage beige coat, during a trip to Northern Ireland in March last year – where she and husband Harry took a tour of the Titanic exhibition in Belfast.

While her signature style set her back £530, you can find a high street version available in H&M for an affordable £49.99.

Great Grey

And if you thought that was already enough colours to add to one's collection, the Duchess also has a grey wrap coat that debuted in her early months of pregnancy.

She wore the £550 coat by designers Soia & Kyo when visiting Brinsworth House, the Royal Variety Charity's residential nursing and care home in London, last December.

But to save yourself some cash, you can pick up a high street dupe from Vera Moda at Dorothy Perkins for only £45.
