Look like you've walked straight out Steptoe and Son and pay £1,150 for the privilege

FASHION victims can look like they’ve walked straight out Steptoe and Son’s telly rag and bone yard – and pay £1,150 for the privilege.

This patchwork designer coat from high end firm By Walid might have even been deemed too scruffy for legendary telly duo Albert and Harold.

The grimy and grasping father and son were a TV institution for their antics in their Old Drum Lane yard.

And this pricey piece of clobber wouldn’t have looked out of place on the back of their horse and cart after a day collecting unwanted goods on the streets of London.

Stockist Farfetch says of the patchwork horror: “Patchwork style trench coat.

“Protecting yourself from harsh weather conditions is easy.

“Made from multicoloured cotton and boasting a patchwork design, this By Walid trench coat won't fail you in that department. No wrongdoings here.”

London-based designer Walid Damirji says he “creates modern silhouettes for men and women using antique textiles that are entirely sustainable”.

And “his philosophy around the ‘luxury of zero waste’ means his couture, one-of-a-kind, pieces extend beyond fashion into the home with covetable creations such as 18th century quilts, embroidered cushions and sculptured heads”.
