DECORATING any house is a big challenge, not to mention pretty pricey.

When 18-year-old Courtney Griffiths, from north Wales, transformed a grotty council house into her dream home she was proud of the result.

But mean trolls had other thoughts and slammed Courtney over the fact her freshly decorated pad is a council house.

In a clip shared on TikTok, Courtney proudly showed off the before and after of her home.

Before decorating, the the magnolia walls were completely bare, there was no carpet and the house was a bit of an empty shell.

But after the young homeowner added furniture and a few finishing touches it looked completely different.

It's not just the living room that got a huge makeover though – she even spruced up the hallway with grey laminate flooring, a huge mirror and some sweet family pictues.

Courtney also added some shelving to the front of the house, which made all the difference.

Even her bedroom got the DIY treatment and is now the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

But despite all her hard work and the impressive results, taunting trolls mocked her for, suggesting it doesn't count because it's a council house.

"The government did it," one person quipped.

"Doesn't count it's council," another jabbed.

Luckily, not everyone was so cruel and other supported Courtney and praised her hard work.

One said: "Absolutely stunning you should be so proud of yourself."

A second agreed: "I don't get what all the hate is for in a council house. I pay £402 a month for a two-bed house and don't have to pay for repairs or worry in case my boiler breaks.

"She's a young girl who's got off her bum and made it a home for her and her baby, why are people being so negative and hateful?"

And someone else commented: "This is such a proud moment."
