Stylist Melita Latham reveals how the modern man can emulate Prince William and Prince’s Harry’s “classic” styles. According to Melita, recreating their look is nothing short of “easy peasy”.

William and Harry have their effortless style down to a tee.

Melita said: “It’s a look that has been around for decades, sported by film stars, sportsmen, celebrities alike.”

She elaborated: “The classic, and I mean classic, blazer and denim jeans ensemble.”

The Royal Family live in a world away from that of commoners, but Prince William and Harry fans will be glad to know they can recreate their styles on a budget.

Melita revealed: “The denim needs to be relaxed fit, and unlikely will properly work if it’s too faded or ripped.”

As for the blazer, it should be “single breasted, of course”.

Colour wise, Melita recommends “navy, dark or at a push, cornflower blue”.

In July this year, William and Harry both donned navy suits for what would have been their late mother’s 60th birthday.

Richard Eden, Daily Mail diary editor, told Palace Confidential: “That was Diana’s favourite suit for a man, it was navy.”

As for blazer buttons, “this requires thought”.

Melita said: “Metal can be acceptable, but shiny, or worse still gold and shiny, is more of a challenge.”

She stated: “Either dark blue, black or brown buttons are best.”

Melita refers to a particularly stylish Prince William moment in 2017.

One of his “most relaxed looks” was on the front cover of men’s magazine GQ.

The Prince wore his own dark blue Alexander McQueen coat over a lighter blue Richard James shirt.

Although “costly”, Melita assures men that they can pull off this look without breaking the bank.

“This casual look is mastered, regardless of price tag, by many men every single day and they all look like princes.”

Prince William also enjoys pieces from Savile Row tailor Thom Sweeney.

For both princes, minimalistic and effortless meets chic and stylish for a laidback yet suave look.

She advised men to “dust off your old school blazers, buy yourself a new shirt and iron your jeans.”

The stylist added: “You never know when you’ll be mistaken for royalty.”
