Amazing hack to ALWAYS get someone to tell you the truth – and it’s really simple
11th September 2021

MOVIES show characters using all manner of magic, science, and top-secret espionage tactics to get the truth out of someone, but one TikTok user has a much easier hack for calling out a lie.

The TikTok star, who goes by @patricia.cnr, has over a million followers, who tune into her modern-day charm school for confidence boosters and conversational hacks.

Patricia’s latest viral post walks viewers through the best way to suss out the truth from a reluctant friend, colleague, or partner.

She gives simple instructions in a series of captions on the video.

"When someone gives you a dissatisfactory answer, stop talking,” Patricia instructs, demonstrating the rambling conversation that’s instinctual when trying to get to the bottom of a fib.

Here, Patricia recommends viewers lean into the awkwardness.

In the video, the brunette pops a wide-eyed stare at the camera, looking directly at the viewer well past the point of discomfort.

“Instead, remain quiet,” she writes.

“Your silence will pressure them to elaborate a better answer,” she explains. As Patricia gives a polite shrug and expectant nod, she keeps her mouth shut tight–and the tool is certainly effective.

Users in the comments attest to the tactic’s impact. “My therapist did this to me,” jokes one user.

Another commenter takes the conversational hack even further.

"OR mirror/repeat the last few words of their answer and say it like a question," writes a user who goes by kdraza11. "That'll get them to elaborate more."

Many viewers swear by Patricia’s account, where she also posts body language tricks to win over dates without breaking a sweat.
