TOWIE ‘axe two stars’ in another cast shake-up amid fears ‘they’re not the right fit’
6th December 2022

The Only Way is Essex has ousted newcomers Mia Sully and Hannah Voyan after just one series, according to The Sun.

They officially joined reality TV royalty Amy Childs, 32, Amber Turner, 29, and Dan Edgar, 32, in this year's cast back in April, but it seems as though the show's decision-makers aren't overly keen on their vibe.

"Producers had high hopes for Mia and Hannah when they signed them and hoped they would shake up the show, but ultimately, they didn't feel they were the right fit in the end and viewers didn't connect with them either," a source told the aforementioned publication.

"It happens quite a lot with TOWIE where newcomers come in and it just doesn't work out. Bosses decided to cut their losses and start fresh next series."

OK! has contacted a representative for the show for comment.

Before the 2022 series went into production, a whopping 10 cast members were relieved of their duties, with a TOWIE statement reading: "As it looks ahead to future series, the next instalment of our BAFTA award-winning show returns to Essex to follow a smaller group of cast members.

"As always, their wellbeing is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to offer welfare support if needed to all past and present TOWIE cast.

"We ask and urge all our viewers to think before commenting, and remember that #ThesePeopleAreAllReal."

While Mia and Hannah's reported departure would be creating waves behind the scenes, Lime Pictures' very own Rebecca Kenny-Smith confirmed that not one, but two series, will air in 2023 to coincide with TOWIE's 12th birthday.

"We are so excited to bring The Only Way is Essex back in 2023. Towie is truly an iconic British TV show, which has been embedded into viewers’ screens for over 30 series. We look forward to bringing more entertainment from the gossip and glamour capital of the UK next year," she shared.

In other news, Amy Childs is expecting twins with her partner Billy Delbosq, 39.

The soon-to-be-mum-of-four exclusively told OK! in October: "I feel like I’m still in shock – massively in shock. When they said it was twins, I wish we'd videoed it.

"I went for a few early scans and they told me at eight weeks, 'There’s two sacks and two heartbeats, congratulations.' My face was an absolute picture, like, 'I’m not ready to have a baby – I’m not ready to have twins.'

"Even just finding out that I was pregnant and being told the news, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry."
