Strictly’s AJ Odudu says ‘nothing will ever top’ meeting Kai for the first time

AJ Odudu has said that "nothing will ever top" meeting her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington for the first time.

The star is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing and said nothing will beat her first interaction with Kai, while she was on The One Show on Friday 12 November.

When asked about her Strictly highlight so far, AJ said: "Oh my gosh, all of it but I think nothing will ever top meeting Kai for the first time, us just getting on like a house on fire."

She then went on to add that the first time she danced on the Strictly dance floor, when she performed the Jive to Gold Dust there was "no feeling like it" and described it as "amazing".

Last week saw AJ break down in tears thanking Kai for giving her the confidence to perform after she'd been struggling in training.

The pair have been earning some impressive scores, with last week getting 39 points out of a possible 40 from the judges for their Charleston.

Judge Shirley Bassey awarded them 10 points but said that she wished she could've given them even higher.

They have topped the leader board more than once and haven't had to face the dance off at all yet and some think the couple could win the whole competition.

They have also been the subject of Strictly romance rumours.

AJ and Kai haven't yet confirmed their romance but they also haven't denied the possibility when they've been grilled on the subject.

One particular moment when they sparked rumours was during a clip before their Halloween performance, AJ's nieces and nephews came to visit her while she was training.

When describing why she liked the show, she really liked Kai which caused her nephew to ask why didn't she kiss him then.

The pair laughed it off, but viewers won't back down on their possible romance.

The following week saw host Claudia Winkleman grill the pair even more on their blossoming relationship.

After their sweet Movie Week dance to Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing, the host asked Kai if he'd kiss AJ, saying it was the perfect time to.

Kai agreed it'd be a good time but said they'd wait until they received their results but then just ended up giving AJ a kiss on the hand.

This weekend the pair are set to perform a Paso Doble to Game Of Survival by Ruelle.
