Smashing Pumpkins Cover ‘Dangerous Type’ With Tim McIlrath
4th December 2018

The Smashing Pumpkins performed a cover of The Cars‘ “Dangerous Type” with Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath Friday evening.

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan supported McIlrath by playing guitar and singing the chorus to the classic track.

The Smashing Pumpkins played in their hometown of Chicago Friday night as part of their ongoing 30th anniversary tour in support of the new album Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1.

The band already dropped three singles from the album — “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts),” “Solara,” and “Knights of Malta.”

Meanwhile, Billy Corgan announced that he plans to record a Christmas album with the Smashing Pumpkins after the conclusion of their US tour.

“I also have an inkling to try and get us to do a Christmas record one day, so I might try to use the Christmas spirit to put the record together in concept, even if we’re not ready to record it,” he told USA Today recently.
