Saira Khan has shared a candid post about how her body changed after giving birth to her son Zachariah.

The 50 year old Loose Women panellist, who recently revealed coronavirus has been the kick she needed, took to her Instagram feed to share an unfiltered photo of her stomach as she donned a yellow and black patterned bikini.

In the caption, the star opened up about how she has managed to overcome feelings of embarrassment and instead learned how to accept her body after all it's "gone through and survived".

She wrote: "Nobody really tells you how much your body changes after giving birth. I remember after 6 months, I started back on the exercise and was doing the plank and accidentally looked at my stomach and let out a horrified yelp.

"WTF!! My stomach was unrecognisable, it looked like a sac just hanging away from my body, skin all dimpled, loose and I was disgusted, mortified and so self conscious. [sic]

"I thought I was the only person that this happened to. Like anything that is embarrassing, it’s not something I heard women talk about. So I just dealt with it silently. I was even embarrassed to talk to my hubby Steve, incase he didn’t find me attractive anymore."

After doing some research into what the cause was, the presenter discovered that it was all down to her pregnancy.

The brunette beauty, who had a Caesarean section, found that those who want it corrected can do so by getting surgery or a cosmetic procedure, but she herself has opted to simply exercise to tone her stomach.

Saira, who recently said exercise has helped with her sex life, now feels comfortable sharing her experience as she said: "It’s take me over 10 years to be able to share this photo.

"At 50, I’m not embarrassed anymore. I’m in fact proud that I can accept my body for what it has gone through, survived and keeps achieving for me."

The presenter, who is also mum to her adopted daughter Amara, explained that she hopes her post will inspire new mothers to not feel embarrassed or ashamed about their post-pregnancy bodies and instead enjoy their lives.

Saira also revealed that her husband had never noticed the loose skin on her stomach as she continued: "My hubby had never even noticed it? And as he say’s, I love your body for the child it has given us… he made me laugh when he said “ at least you’ve got an excuse for your loose bits, what’s my excuse?”" [sic] alongside a laughing emoji.

Clearly having inspired people, thousands of her 73,500 fans flocked to the comment section to praise her for her honest post.
