Prince William and Duchess Kate returned to where it all began.
As part of their ongoing royal tour of Scotland, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to their old college town, stopping by St. Andrews University, where they first met and fell in love years ago.
Of course, the royal couple didn’t hit the books immediately upon their arrival. Instead, both William and Kate participated in a friendly land yacht race hosted by the organization Fife Young Carers at the famous West Sands Beach at St. Andrews. The organization is composed of young caretakers in the community who work to maintain their physical and mental well-beings by participating in a range of outdoor activities and workshops.
Dressed casually for their time outside, Kate wore a pink knit sweater with dark-wash denim, a navy cropped puffer jacket, a camo-print hat, and lace-up boots. As for William, he opted for his signature navy sweater, jeans, and an olive-green Patagonia jacket.
After their beach outing, the Cambridges returned to their old university stomping grounds and met with students to speak about how they’ve coped and supported each other amid the COVID-19 pandemic. For the college visit, Kate switched into a navy blazer, a striped sweater, and skinny jeans paired with her signature Veja sneakers, while William wore a sweater layered over an oxford shirt and a matching trench jacket.
The Cambridges also chatted with students about how to safely go about extracurricular activities during the pandemic, recognizing that often extracurriculars like ballroom and Latin dancing, charity functions, and well-being activities serve as vital moral boosters for students on campus.
