Prince Andrew ‘offers to manage Balmoral – but King Charles refuses to give brother role’
5th March 2023

Prince Andrew has allegedly offered to manage some of the Royal Family's prestigious estates, including the Queen's beloved Balmoral, but King Charles has turned him down.

After being stripped of his royal titles and military affiliations by the Queen last year, a source has now told the Mirror that the Duke of York has offered to managed some of the Royal Family's prestigious estates, including the Queen's beloved Balmoral.

However the King does not seem too keen about the idea.

One insider told the Mirror: “Andrew is insisting on having a job despite being made to stand down from his duties and now he’s being kicked out of his home.

“He’s of the opinion that he is still a senior member of the family, despite not being a working royal and deserves to be treated as such.

“He is prepared to take on the responsibility of a big role running an estate and still thinks he is far too young to retire."

The Duke has pleaded with Charles for a "top role" in the running of the monarchy, and that he is "insisting on having a job despite being made to stand down from his duties", particularly after being removed from his home.

However, according to the source, King Charles has been clear as he turned down his offer, as he has reportedly offered him to move into Frogmore Cottage as he's evicting Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

OK! has contacted the royal representatives at Buckingham Palace for comment.

The Sussexes – who have resided in California since 2021 – received notice from the King to vacate their five-bedroom property just one day after Harry published his explosive memoir Spare, with a source close to the couple claiming they were "OK" with it.

Andrew is also said to be refusing to leave his 30-bedroom Royal Lodge home in Windsor despite Charles informing him of planned budget cuts.

However, Andrew is reportedly telling friends there’s “no chance” he’ll be leaving the house after spending millions on renovations.

A source said: “He [said] he’s not leaving, there is no chance that will happen and even if the King wanted him how would that work?

“The King won’t evict him so there is no chance it will come to that.”

The King has resisted all attempts by Andrew and daughters Eugenie and Beatrice, who are also understood to have met His Majesty to fight their father’s case.

On top of this, Prince Andrew's finances seemingly continue to be shrouded in mystery after last year he made a payment of £12million to Virginia Giuffre in an out of court settlement to halt a full civil trial in the US, without admitting liability.

Andrew has vehemently denied the claims.

He also sold a luxury Swiss chalet for £17m, which he co-owned with ex Sarah, but is understood to have debts.

It has been speculated however, whether Andrew received any benefits from the inheritance of the will of his late mother The Queen.
