Piers Morgan risked the wrath of females on Twitter today, as he laughed off their passionate response to England’s Lioness squad going head-to-head with Spain in the World Cup final.
The Talk TV host referenced Michael Winner’s famous Esure adverts where he would tell female drivers to “calm down dear” as he said, “it’s only a game of football”.
On Twitter, he typed: “Seems to be a lot of very over-emotional women on here right now. Calm down, it’s only a game of football…”
Immediately the presenter was flooded with comments from his 8.5 million followers.
