GMB: Paul Young opens up about his stammer
Paul Young was ecstatic when he broke the news over on Instagram that his girlfriend Lorna was marrying him, following his first wife’s tragic death from brain cancer.
The 67-year-old singing sensation shared a wedding ring emoji with his 44,000 followers, exclaiming: “Lorna said Yes!
“We are both so happy and both looking forward to a wonderful future together!”
Fans commented by describing the pair’s romance as the “love of a lifetime” – and Lorna paid tribute to her partner on her own Instagram page too, cooing: “My world, my love, my everything, five years of joy, I could not love anyone more!”
It sounds as if the engagement has been a long time in the making, as Lorna has been referring to her beau as a “husband-to-be” for two years.

The pair moved into a shared home over Christmas 2021, where they co-parent three cats and a pet snake.
Lorna’s Instagram bio now proudly reads: “Engaged to Paul Young and living my best life.”
The engagement is Paul’s second chance at marital happiness after tragedy struck and he lost his first wife to brain cancer in early 2018.
Stacey, who made an appearance in Paul’s 1983 video for second single ‘Come Back And Stay’, lost her two-year battle with the deadly disease at the age of just 52.

Though the pair split in 2006, that wasn’t before they had three children together over the course of an almost 20-year marriage – Levi, 36, Layla, 29, and Grady, 27.
Stacey went on to have a fourth child, 12-year-old Jude, with Israeli businessman Ilan Slazenger following their brief split.
However, she and Paul rekindled their love in 2013 and he took on the role of doting step-dad to Jude as they attempted to revive the romance.
They never divorced, and soon after the pair celebrated three decades of marriage, she discovered that she had cancer.
Paul sadly spoke about her death on This Morning in 2018, revealing that he and the entire family had cut out sugar as a symbol of solidarity to Stacey after discovering that it “aggravates cancer”.
“We just made the best of it for those two years,” he explained, adding that he’d also focused on his career to make Stacey “proud”.
“We wanted to get working and do something positive. That’s what she was proudest of. She was really happy for me when things started to pick up again,” he explained.
