Paul Hollywood shows off his ‘perfect apple pie recipe’

Paul Hollywood made a surprise visit to the set of Emmerdale, along with his new wife Melissa – and the pair were snapped sitting on the Dingles’ couch in West Yorkshire this week.

It’s the first time the pair have been pictured together since becoming husband and wife at a luxurious wedding in Cyprus – and it’s even sparked speculation that Paul could become a cast member.

The 57-year-old Great British Bake Off judge – who was once head baker at The Dorchester – seemed to be in high spirits as he posed for photos, as was 39-year-old Melissa.

They shared the space with the Dingles: Samson (Sam Hall), Sam (James Hooton), Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Lydia (Karen Blick).

In another iconic snap posted to Emmerdale’s Twitter (X) account, Paul can be seen posing beside the TV village’s iconic street sign.

Fans took the internet by storm as they quizzed whether Paul could become a part of the ITV show.

“So that is who is in the chair tonight!” one exclaimed mischievously, while another commented: “Hope he is not auditioning to replace Jane Hudson!”

However, a rep for Emmerdale shared with MailOnline that there is no chance of the Great British Bake Off host taking on an acting role in the soap at the moment.

“It was just a behind-the-scenes visit to the show so he won’t be appearing on Emmerdale anytime soon,” the rep clarified.

Paul and Melissa have just returned from their lavish wedding at the Ayia Athanasia chapel, which is an on-site part of the Anassa Hotel in Neo Chorio, Cyprus.

Melissa’s relatives closed up their family pub, The Chequers Inn, in the sleepy Kent village of Smarden, for 10 days so that they could join in with the celebrations.

Weddings at the Anassa Hotel can cost up to £100,000, while even the most modest rooms the property has start at around £400 per night – so the celebrations are unlikely to have come cheap.

The wedding follows Paul’s romance with then-barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam.

Summer now regards herself as a “qualified horse whisperer” and “qualified laser practitioner”, with her own business, Aesthetics by Summer, according to her Instagram account.

Before dating Summer, Paul was married to now ex-wife Alexandra for 20 years, with whom he shares a 21-year-old son, Josh.
