Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has been named Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to music.
More than 1,100 people were honored with CBE, as they were included in Queen Elizabeth‘s New Year’s Honours list in recognition of “the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.”
The co-founder of Pink Floyd is the only band member to appear on all of its albums.
2018 has been an extraordinary year for Mason, who founded a new band, Saucerful Of Secrets, in the summer. The five-member band, which also features Guy Pratt and Gary Kemp, made its debut tour of the UK in September.
Mason and team will embark on a North American and European tour in April 2019.
