Matthew Perry’s ex-fiancee Molly Hurwitz has been pictured for the first time since the Friends star’s tragic death at age 54.

In photos obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, Hurwitz looked downcast as she took her dog Alfred to a park in Los Angeles on Wednesday with a friend.

Hurwitz shared the brown doodle mix with Matthew during their time together, but she seems to have taken ownership after they split two years ago.

She occasionally kept her gaze down as she let her furry friend play about the park with another pooch.

Hurwitz strolled the grounds in a ‘College’ crewneck sweatshirt, leggings, with a cap and sunglasses shielding her from the sun.

She followed her leashed dog about the grounds before letting him roam about with his furry friend.

The dogs scampered by her side as she walked through the field beside her friend.

It all comes just days after the world learned Perry had tragically passed at age 54.

Hurwitz has been left ‘heartbroken’ by his sudden death, according to insiders, who claim she had hoped for a long-lasting relationship with the actor before ‘he threw it away’.

The Friends star – who was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Saturday – was first romantically linked to the literary manager, who works for Thruline Entertainment, in 2018, before they got engaged in November 2020.

But, the relationship came to a dramatic end around summer 2021, after it was claimed Perry had messaged a 19-year-old on exclusive dating app, Raya.

‘Of course, she is heartbroken over his death,’ the insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘She loved him and just like anyone else would feel in her instance, wishes things would have been different.’

The source added that while Perry had longed for a stable relationship, he ultimately failed to behave in a way that could make that a reality.

They continued: ‘Matthew claimed he wanted this family and to be loved forever by one woman, but he had that with her until he threw it away.’

The pair’s relationship came to an end after footage of the actor’s flirty exchange with the 19-year-old was exposed online.

Perry could be seen in a video posted in May 2021 flirting with TikTok user @kittynichole – real name Kate Haralson – who claims they matched on the membership-only dating service that month.

Molly contained her dog on a leash as she followed him about the park

Haralson shared the footage of herself with the caption: ‘When you match w Matthew Perry as a joke on a dating app and he facetimes you and plays 20 questions with you.’

The leak was ultimately the nail in the coffin for Perry and Hurwitz’s relationship, with the source claiming: ‘She caught him talking to a teenage girl on a dating website and he became defensive.

‘Their split was not amicable, but Molly doesn’t blame him, nor does she harbor any negative feelings.’

Confirming their break-up at the time, Perry said in a statement: ‘Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.’

DailyMail.com has contacted Molly Hurwitz’s representatives for comment.

Hurwitz posted a poignant tribute to her ex-fiancée on Instagram, claiming he would ‘love that the world is talking about how talented he was’.

She recalled how he ‘rediscovered his brilliance’ when they re-watched Friends together ahead of the 2021 reunion, before adding that she ‘obviously knew that man in a very different way, too’.

‘While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known,’ she said.

‘No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.’

Elsewhere, another source told DailyMail.com that Perry – who never married before his death – longed for stepchildren, thanks to his great relationship with his own stepdad, Keith Morrison.

‘Matthew always dreamed of having the perfect family,’ a second source close to the star told DailyMail.com. ‘He wanted a wife, and at least a couple of kids. And he said he wouldn’t even mind marrying a woman who already had kids.’

‘No one meant more to Perry in this world than his stepfather Keith Morrison the host of Dateline, who married his mother in 1981,’ the source said.

The actor, who shot to fame as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the seminal 90s sitcom, was found dead at his house in Los Angeles on Saturday after emergency crews were called at around 4pm local time.

He had reportedly played a two-hour game of Pickleball – a sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court – earlier in the day, before sending his assistant out on an errand. When they returned, Perry was said to be found unresponsive in his hot tub.

The source added that while Perry had longed for a stable relationship, he ultimately failed to behave in a way that could make that a reality with Hurwitz

Perry won a worldwide fanbase for his role in Friends, for which he received an Emmy nomination in 2002 – but behind the glitz and glamour, he was secretly battling substance abuse for decades.

The star laid bare the height of his terrible drug and alcohol addiction battle which nearly cost him his life in a book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir.

Perry also revealed that his colon ruptured as a result of his opioid addiction when he was just 49.

Doctors gave him only a two percent chance of survival and he was in a coma for two weeks followed by months more in the hospital.

The actor famously reunited with Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer for the Friends Reunion special in 2021

Perry required 14 surgeries to help repair all of the abdominal damage, and he admitted to having gone to rehab 15 times over the years in hopes of kicking his drug addiction.

At one point during his Friends career, he admits he was taking 55 Vicodin a day and was down to 128 pounds, but he ‘didn’t know how to stop’.

Fans and friends alike have been flooding social media with tributes to the star, as they continue to come to terms with his untimely death.

Devoted followers of the show even created artwork of the actor and his late co-star James Michael Tyler – who played Gunther – getting a coffee together in heaven.
