Perrie Edwards was visibly horrified as Jack Whitehall made a crude joke about her and bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s pregnancies at the Brit Awards on Tuesday 11 May.
Little Mix singer Perrie, 27, announced she is expecting her first child with Alex Oxlande-Chamberlain just days before she and her bandmates appeared at the star-studded ceremony.
The week before, Leigh-Anne, 29, shared the happy news that she is also expecting her fist child with fiancé Andre Gray.
And, rather than congratulate them, 32 year old comedian Jack, who’s girlfriend was rushed to hospital before the Brits, took the opportunity to turn the air blue with his quip.
As Jack approached the band’s tables to have a socially-distanced chat with them, he told the award winners: “There is something different, it’s the elephant in the room so I’m just gonna go ahead and ask it…”
Jack then turned to one third of the band, Jade Thirwall and said: “Jade, is that a new hairdo?”
The Woman Like Me singers giggled as 28 year old Jade replied with: “Yeah, it is actually thanks for asking!”
However, Jack soon lowered the tone as he added: “The next question on my card is ‘What did you do to pass the time in lockdown’ but eh…”
Perrie’s expression was clearly unimpressed as she said: “Well”.
Meanwhile, Leigh-Anne was also visibly taken aback as she put her head in her hands before she added: “He went there, he actually went there!”
Perrie then exclaimed: “My dad’s watching this!”
Jack’s cheeky dig wasn’t the only cheeky remark the Bad Education actor made towards the trio as he also made a dig over Jesy Nelson leaving the band.
The comedian introduced the group as “Little Mix got littler”, in reference to 29 year old Jesy’s departure from the band, which she announced in December last year.
Jesy is reported to want to “sever ties” with the band after revealing a panic attack caused her decision to leave the band, she said in an interview earlier this month.
However, Jesy didn’t let the rumours stop her from congratulating the singers on their history-making award win, as they became the first all-female band to win the Brit Award for Best British Band.
The now-solo singer shared her pride as she posted a photo of Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne on her Instagram story and shared five red heart emojis above the image along with three clapping hands emojis underneath the picture.

Little Mix paid tribute to Jesy in their acceptance speech as Leigh-Anne said: “We have been together for 10 years. The best years of our life. We have gone through so much, we’ve made so many beautiful memories.
“We want to start by thanking our incredible fans and, of course, Jesy and our amazing team.
“It’s not easy being a female in the UK pop industry, we’ve seen white man dominance, misogyny, sexism and lack of diversity.
“We’re proud how we’ve stuck together, stood our ground and surrounded ourselves with strong women and using our voices more than ever,” Leigh-Anne concluded.
