Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan are teaming up for a new movie!
The 43-year-old Titanic star and the 24-year-old Mary Queen of Scots actress will be playing lovers in the upcoming movie Ammonite – the historical drama inspired by real-life fossil hunter and paleontologist Mary Anning who is credited with making important discoveries in Jurassic marine fossil beds along the English Channel.
“Set in a UK coastal town in the 1840s, the drama will follow the unlikely romance between paleontologist Mary Anning (Winslet) and a London woman (Ronan) of means to whom she must unexpectedly play nursemaid,” according to Deadline.
The film will be directed by Francis Lee, who gained critical acclaim for his 2017 drama God’s Own Country about a romance between two male farmhands.
Ammonite will begin filming in March 2019.
