Kate Middleton poses in uniform as she pays tribute on national Armed Forces Day
25th June 2022

Kate Middleton has released pictures of herself dressed in army uniform and sitting in the cock pit of a fighter jet to mark Armed Forces Day.

The photographs were taken in November last year when Kate visited Pirbright Training Academy in Surrey and spent time with the 101 Operational Sustainment Brigade at Abingdon Airfield to see first-hand how new recruits and serving personnel are trained.

In the five new photographs, the Duchess can be seen interacting with the Brigade members and got stuck in learning about their lives.

She can also be seen participating in some of the training exercises before spending time speaking to personnel about their experiences in the Army.

One of the photos shows Kate, 40, sitting in the cock pit with a helmet and headphones as she smiles for the camera and gets a feel for the inside of an Army plane.

The mother of three didn’t appear to shy away from getting her hands dirty on the visit and can also be seen trying her hand at working the elements of an army vehicle.

The images were shared on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram page.

The caption read: “Today on Armed Forces Day, William and I would like to pay tribute to the brave men and women, past and present, serving in all of our armed forces, at sea, on land and in the air, here in the UK and around the world. Thank you for all you and your families sacrifice to keep us safe."

The caption continued: “Last year, I was honoured to spend time with the @BritishArmy to see how they train serving personnel and new recruits. It was wonderful to see first-hand the many important and varied roles the military play day in, day out to protect us all, and I look forward to discovering more about the @RoyalNavy and @RoyalAirForceUK in due course.”

It is understood that Kate also plans to spend time with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.

Fans were quick to praise the future queen on her hands on approach on the day.

One wrote: “Wow” followed by a heart eyes emoji and red heart emoji.

A second penned: “She will make the most beautiful army lady ever!!!”

While a third added: “Great pictures! Diversity as its best. Many thanks Kate.”

Kate never shies away from getting stuck in and she showed her sport side on Thursday as she played football in towering wedge heels.

It came as she joined the Duke of Cambridge, 40, at the first ever Cambridgeshire County Day at Newmarket Racecourse.

William and Kate both took part in a football game where they attempted to kick the ball at a target.

Kate told the crowd it would be difficult as she was “wearing wedges”.

After taking a shot, the duchess shook the hand of a boy who had been playing before her and said: “You did better than I did.”
