John Travolta Posts A Heartwarming Message To His Daughter
5th April 2021

John Travolta and his eldest daughter Ella have a very special connection. The lovable duo recently made everybody swoon by re-enacting his legendary Grease dance moves for a sweet commercial, for Scotts & Miracle Gro, that ran during the Super Bowl (via E! News). Their bond was obvious to everybody watching at home. Evidently, the two have only grown closer since the death of Kelly Preston — Travolta’s wife and Ella’s mother — from breast cancer in 2020.

As ET notes, budding actress Ella has been photographed on red carpets with her father since she could walk. Although John Travolta has mostly stayed out of her dating life, he did engineer a meeting with Ella’s childhood crush, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, that still makes her blush to this day. Dad and daughter frequently pop up on each other’s Instagram accounts, so it was no surprise when the Grease icon took to the site to honor his eldest child on a very big, important birthday.

John Travolta is incredibly proud of daughter Ella

Marking Ella turning the big 2-1, Travolta posted a stunning shot of her to his Instagram account, noting alongside it, “Happy 21st birthday to the most beautiful, kind, human being and artist I know. Your dad adores you!” Comments flooded in from famous pals, including Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, who quipped, “Happy bday not so much kiddo,” and iconic actress Sharon Stone who described Ella as a “stunner,” while several commenters pointed out how much the young lady resembles her famous father (albeit, with more hair, obviously). This marks Ella’s first birthday without Kelly Preston, so it’s especially lovely to see Travolta making such a fuss of her.

The actor previously gushed to People, “She is gracious, generous, poised, graceful and gorgeous.” He refused to pat himself on the back for how well the young woman has turned out, however, noting, “I don’t know how she came to be, and I don’t take any credit other than just adoring her.” Ella is serious about following in her father’s footsteps. She was recently cast in Get Lost, an upcoming modern reimagining of Alice in Wonderland helmed by Daniela Amavia, as Deadline reported last month.
