I’m A Celebrity’s Fred Sirieix reveals who he might meet up with outside of the jungle after being criticised for remarks he made about Josie Gibson and Nella Rose
His staunch political beliefs were considered Nigel Farage’s biggest threat in the I’m a Celebrity jungle.
But Fred Sirieix, 51, has revealed he will go for a pint with the Brexit Party founder, 59, after the show ends.
An unlikely bromance began during their time together and it’s a relationship that has not only perplexed viewers but the First Dates star himself.
Speaking after his shock elimination from the show yesterday, he said: ‘I have never been so conflicted as I am with a person as I am with Nigel Farage.’
The pair came to blows over several Brexit-orientated issues through the 18 days the Frenchman was in the show.
I’m A Celebrity’s Fred Sirieix, 51, revealed he can’t wait to enjoy a pint with Nigel Farage, 59, as the pair put their political differences aside
An unlikely bromance began as the pair spent more time together and it’s a relationship that has not only perplexed viewers but the First Dates star himself
Early in the series, Fred accused the politician of ‘destroying the economy’ and ‘creating a big mess’ by encouraging the Brexit vote.
‘But I got to know the man,’ Fred continued. ‘And I have really enjoyed being with Nigel Farage the man.
‘We don’t live far from each other and I know where he drinks so we might well go for a pint one day and have a chat and talk things over.’
Before entering the jungle, a Tweet resurfaced from 2017 when Fred branded Nigel a ‘coward who likes the sound of his own voice’.
But according to the First Dates Maitre’d, the two men shared a bond in the Australian camp over their similar work ethics, history and current affairs.
Fred said: ‘Everything I wanted to say I put on the table. I pull no punches and I say as I think but at the same time there is a conflict because he was a nice man to be with in camp and actually we have a lot in common.’
He continued: ‘When the letters were read out we were all looking at each other. Everyone was very proud of us and you could see he was so emotional and he went to have a moment by himself and I know he couldn’t talk.
‘I wanted to go and see him but I couldn’t see him because he is very closed like that. He told us and you have to respect that and respect the boundaries.
‘Behind the politics he was there for everybody and he had been very pleasant to be with.’

Despite clashing politically, Fred revealed he has enjoyed getting to know the real Nigel: ‘I have really enjoyed being with Nigel Farage the man’

The pair clashed once again at the weekend as they became embroiled in an argument about over-fishing.
The duo butted heads after Nigel said as they cooked: ‘I wonder how many people at home have had eel risotto for breakfast. From an environmental perspective, the way we’re fishing some of the oceans is not very clever.’
After politician Nigel said he spoke about the subject in parliament, Fred quipped: ‘I’m sure you did’.
Nigel began: ‘A combination of European greed…’ only for his furious campmate to interrupt him.
Fred then said: ‘It’s not just European greed, you’ve got to stop saying that. Because it’s the world who is overfishing. You’ve got to stop saying European greed in all of this. This is just not right Nigel.’
After continuing to argue, Fred said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘He never answers the questions. But do you know why? Because he’s talking b*****.’
Fred became the third campmate to be eliminated from the jungle on Tuesday night after both Nella Rose and Frankie Dettori were voted out.
