I’m A Celeb winner Harry Redknapp thought Emily Atack had ‘no chance’ with son Jamie until she ‘scrubbed up’… as she makes ANOTHER play for footballer ‘now I’ve got my makeup on’

She made a public plea for Jamie Redknapp to give her a call on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after admitting to a secret crush on the former footballer.

But cheeky show winner Harry Redknapp, 71, joked he thought runner-up Emily Atack, 28, had ‘no chance’ with his son, 45, until she ‘scrubbed up’ after leaving the jungle and now looks ‘very beautiful’ with make-up on. 

And even Emily herself agreed with her campmate, as she made another play for Jamie live on ITV’s Lorraine, quipping: ‘now I’ve got my makeup on.’

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, the newly crowned King Of The Jungle Harry admitted: ‘I’ll be honest, when I saw her in the jungle I thought no chance. But when I seen her today all scrubbed up I thought she’s very beautiful.

‘I saw her in the jungle and thought she hasn’t got a prayer. Today she looked fantastic.’

He then amusingly added: ‘I went, “Who are you?” and she said, “I was in the jungle with you”. And, “I said I don’t even recognise you.”‘

On Tuesday night, the actress made her interest in the former professional footballer known as she asked Harry whether his son was single before brazenly claiming she would make a ‘really good daughter-in-law’.

She joked with the football manager: ‘I bet I would make a really good daughter-in-law.’

The sports star merrily enthused her by saying he had no doubts about that, as he responded: ‘You would be fantastic. There is no doubt about that Emily!’

Soon after, Emily crept away from her camp mates where she insisted she was only ‘messing around’ before making a public plea for Jamie to call her as she mimed and made a phone with her fingers. 

Speaking on Lorraine, Emily, who lost half a stone on the show, confessed she had discovered self-acceptance during her time in the jungle.

‘This place has given me such self-acceptance. I worry about things constantly. I’ve learned to accept who I am. This is my skin, my hair, this is what I look like.’ 

‘Do you know, it’s so funny, we’re seeing each other for the first time in actual clothes and we don’t smell like cockroaches and fire,’ she added of glamming up with her co-stars at the wrap party.

‘I think my hair still smells a bit like fire. Everyone’s beautiful and smells amazing. I’m looking at John Barrowman going, “You look like John Barrowman!”‘.

Discussing why she went on the show in the first place, she revealed: ‘It’s a very fickle industry, you don’t know where you are with it sometimes.

‘In my private life, I felt like everything was up in the air, I needed to flip everything on its head and do something different and challenge myself.

‘I needed some excitement back in my life and get myself back again and oh boy did I do that. I found exactly what I came looking for.

‘I found incredible friendships, I found parts of myself I didn’t know I had. I had an amazing time and I’m so, so happy I did it.’

Emily’s mum Kate Robbins praised the actress for ‘being herself’ with her naturally ‘freckly face’ over her typical ‘drag queen’ make-up looks during an interview on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain. 

The comedian, 56, enthused: ‘I never thought Emily, with the glamour roles she’s played, would make such an impact on the nation and be the zeitgeist with a freckly face and just being Emily, which for a mum is really lovely.’

Adhering to her typical humour, Kate added: ‘When you see the make-up pictures before they went in they all look like drag queens, because you’re so used to seeing them with no make-up on now!’

During the live final, whilst speaking to hosts Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby after being crowned, Harry admitted he’s most looking forward to a dalliance with his beloved wife of more than 50 years.

Asked how he coped without Sandra in the jungle he said: ‘It was very difficult, it was very difficult before cheekily adding: ‘She’s got a bit of grinding coming… Where is she? I’m ready for her!’
