Hollywood and Beyond LOLs Hard at Trump for 'Smocking Gun' Tweet
10th December 2018

The president’s latest spelling error on his Twitter feed sparks another hilarious trend devoted entirely to trashing Trump.

Twitter collectively face palmed on Monday morning when the world woke up to yet another embarrassing spelling error in President Donald Trump’s feed.

"Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion.” @FoxNews That’s because there was NO COLLUSION," reads a portion of the tweet that misspells the word "smoking" twice.

"Not a typo, he did it twice. He can’t spell smoking," actor Zach Braff tweeted.

And plenty of people shared screenshots of Trump’s older tweets to prove that this isn’t even the first time Trump has misspelled "smoking," strengthening the theory that he legitimately thought the letter C is in the word. We use the word "thought," because we truly hope POTUS has learned his lesson by now. But only time will tell.

Andy Cohen took advantage of the trend to promote tonight’s "SMOCKING HOT" episode of "Watch What Happens Live" with guest Miley Cyrus. Mark Hamill — a.k.a. Luke Skywalker — tweeted, "Maybe they can’t find a ‘Smocking’ Gun, but the SMOKING Gun (Conspiracy to Violate Campaign Finance Laws for A) causing illegal corporate contributions & B) excessive personal campaign contributions) is gonna be a bitch!"

Even Monica Lewinsky got in on the fun.

This is one of many Twitter fails the world has marveled at since Trump took office. Just last week he sparked another frenzy of jokes for his "Scott Free" tweet, has misspelled border — one of his favorite subjects — and famously baffled everyone by tweeting, "Despite the constant negative press covfefe."

See some of the funniest reactions from Hollywood and beyond below, starting with the tweets that sparked the latest round of Trump bashing.
