Neighbours: Guy Pearce and Annie Jones secretly filmed new scenes in February in the UK
Guy Pearce has reunited in secret with his former on-screen sweetheart Annie Jones to film new scenes for the Neighbours reboot.
The 55-year-old Hollywood star shot the scenes in England with Jones, 56, in February before the rest of the cast began work on the new series in Melbourne in April reports TV Tonight.
Pearce and Jones wowed fans last July when they returned for what was thought to be the Neighbours finale, reprising their original roles as sweethearts Mike and Jane.
When last seen, Mike (Pearce) and Jane (Annie Jones) had just decided to buy a house together.
But after Neighbours was revived by Amazon, the show’s producers elected to bring the characters back says executive producer Jason Herbison.

‘When the news of the show’s return was announced, one of the big questions was, what will happen with Mike and Jane?,’ he said in an interview with TV Tonight.
‘Fortunately, Guy was very committed to seeing the storyline through and absolutely wanted to honour their relationship and their romance, and the fact that the show had ended, with Mike and Jane together buying a house. So we came up with a storyline.’
Elsewhere in the chat Herbison said that Pearce and Jones made time in their schedules to film the new scenes on an estate in Surrey, outside London.
The storyline, filmed over two days, will involve several episodes in the reboot.
Herbison also teased future episodes featuring Pearce’s much loved character.
“We definitely don’t rule out. It may not be the last you see of him, but we’ll have to let that unfold.”
Pearce originally appeared on the long-running series from 1986 – 1989 as Mike Young, the best friend of Scott, played by Jason Donovan.
Meanwhile, Annie Jones, who played Jane, first appeared in the beloved soap in 1986.
News of Neighbours axing made world headlines in March 2022, when Channel 10 and producers Fremantle announced the show would be ending after 37 years.
But heartbroken fans were given relief just four months after the last episode screened in July, when Amazon elected to reboot the famed soap.
It comes after the all-star series finale of Neighbours win the television ratings for the first time in more than a decade last July.

The episode, which was simulcast on Channel 10 and 10 Peach, drew 873,000 metro viewers across both stations, largely thanks to the cast of returning favourites such as Guy Pearce, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.
Meanwhile, the Neighbours reboot will air on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US and will include streaming rights to thousands of episodes from previous seasons.
The series will stream on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
Channel 10 will debut Neighbours at 4:30pm on Monday September 18, with the Amazon Prime premiere set for September 25.
