Georgia Kousoulou is finding the pressure of being a first-time mum “overwhelming” after admitting to fans she was “driving herself mad” trying to be a perfect mother, a source told new!.

“Georgia has been open about how hard it is to be a new mum and the stress of getting everything right,” the source said.

“The pressure of being a first-time mum has been really overwhelming for her. The pandemic has been a huge stress for everyone but being pregnant throughout it and being in lockdown was even more isolating.

"She missed out on a lot but she hopes things will get easier as life returns to normal.”

Last week Georgia, 30, opened up about her motherhood woes on social media and told followers she had been beating herself up about trying to be the “perfect” mum to son Brody, who she welcomed in May with boyfriend Tommy Mallet, 29.

“I never have strived for perfection until I had Brody, now all I want is for everything to be right and perfect,” said the star, alongside a quote to remind herself to “be kind”.

She added: “Some days I am finding myself self-doubting and driving myself mad. I’m striving for routines and getting upset when I don’t know what to do.”

But Georgia hasn’t been facing this time alone as Tommy has been by her side every step of the way.

“Tommy has been a huge support to Georgia and they have really used this time to bond as a family,” the source said.

“He’s so proud of her as a mum and always reminds her to go easy on herself. He’s really hands-on with Brody, too. They’re a team.”

Georgia has been honest about her journey to motherhood. The TOWIE star was recently praised by fans for sharing a picture of her post-baby body on Instagram with the words, “So you can imagine the first time I looked in the mirror eight weeks ago… I’m not going to lie, I freaked out.

"My body wasn’t my body I was used to no more, I had big stretch marks, I am wider and obviously a C-section scar. I remember just crying.”

She hit out at those who demand new mums to "bounce back," saying: "Let’s just encourage mums to look after themselves, their mental health and their babies. Let’s stop adding more pressure on women, it’s hard enough! I hope being honest will help any other mummies know this is the normal."
