EXCLUSIVE: The Terminal List actor Cedric Jones dead at 46: He went from homeless to a personal trainer to working with ‘down to earth’ pal Chris Pratt

Actor Cedric Jones has died at the age of 46.

His death was ‘sudden’ and his wife and three children have been left in shock.  Out of respect for his family, the details surrounding his death are not being disclosed at this time, DailyMail.com has confirmed.

The personal trainer had appeared as a security detail on The Terminal List and as Curtis in the movie The Magnificent Seven, both with his friend Chris Pratt.

Cedric had called pal Pratt ‘down to earth’ as she he said he was a joy to work with.

Jones was also in Southpaw (2015), Princess of the Row (2019) and Marshall County (2013).

Director Antoine Fuqua of Training Day fame shared: ‘R.I.P to my good brother and friend. You were always the light in the room and on the set. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. MAY THE WIND ALWAYS BE UNDER YOUR WINGS CHAMP as you ascend into the Heavens. Dream team forever.’

Jones had been homeless in Compton, California before getting into fitness and eventually becoming a gym owner.

Cedric had run the celebrity beloved Beastie Boxing gym in Manhattan Beach.

‘Cedric had dedicated his life to helping people in and out of the gym. As found of both Beastie Boxing, and the BMoved Foundation, he inspired and helped people achieve what they previously thought impossible,’ a social media post announcing his death said.

His friend Kat Samick – who worked with him on The Terminal List – told DailyMail.com: ‘We will all miss your light and positive attitude and huge heart Cedric. Prayers and love to his family,’ she said.

Digilio Films added, ‘It’s with heavy heart that the TLIST family says goodbye to Cedric.

‘Cedric owned a local boxing gym where I used to train. He was a fierce fighter, loving father, but also a dear friend to our Antoine Fuqua.

‘When it came time to make The Terminal List, I discovered an audition from Cedric. Had no idea he was pursuing the dream.

‘To me he was just the guy humbly kicking my ass at the gym. Antoine, Chris Pratt and I, along with our fellow producing team, found a spot for Cedric on Steve Horn’s security detail, and his work will live on in some of the best episodes of season one.

‘We are sending love to Cedric’s family, and sharing some details of ways to support or join in the memorial this weekend.’

In December 2022 Cedric was seen on the set of The Terminal List with Pratt.

Cedric wrote on Instagram: ‘I had the pleasure of working with @prattprattpratt on a couple of times. He has been down to earth every time and always showed his faith. He actually stopped filming to pray for my wife and kids while on set because of an accident. #real #actor #faith #star #terminallist #dreamchaser.’

Cedric was loved because he inspired people to work their hardest.

The longtime Compton resident started the BMoved Foundation to help others in need.

In an interview with the Daily Breeze in 2022, Jones explained the foundation worked to inspire boys: ‘It doesn’t matter whether you have or not, they all want to be something; I can never downplay any kid’s issues, if I feel I can help them, I will.’

His mentees went on to earn athletic scholarships from Pepperdine to Tuskegee universities.

A memorial service was held followed by a memorial run from the Beastie Boxing gym to the Manhattan Beach Pier on October 22.

A Go Fund Me has been set up in his honor to help his family.
