Doctor Who star Pearl Mackie, who is otherwise known as Bill Potts, has announced she is “proud to be bisexual and proud to be black” to celebrate this year’s Pride. The actress, who starred alongside Peter Capaldi, is the first LGBTQ+ companion in the long-running series.

Pearl shared a montage of photos of herself with her 95,000 Instagram followers on Monday.
The BBC favourite divulged: “Proud to be bisexual. Proud to be Black.
“Proud of all my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters and everyone in between,” she continued.
“We matter. You matter. Big love and nuff respect. Happy Pride everyone!”
