Clues Ceon Broughton hated women in music video posted days before Louella died
1st March 2019

Ceon Broughton’s song Duracell contains chilling lyrics that could give an insight into his relationship with Louella Fletcher-Michie .

The grime singer was today sentenced to eight and a half years behind bars after being found guilty of Louella’s manslaughter.

She died after he gave her a "bumped up" hit of Class A drugs at Bestival in September 2017.

Louella died just an hour before her 25th birthday.

Broughton’s song Duracell contains some disturbing lyrics that suggest he hated women.

Released just two months before she died, Broughton can be heard singing about spending all his money on a woman but being disrespected by her and having his heart crushed in return.

He says: "I cherished you like a trophy, spent on you my every penny, all my money."

The lyrics continue: "Said you didn’t believe in love until you met me, how could you disrespect me, so unnecessary.

"Crushed my heart and soul now it’s feeling hard to bury, hard to bury"

It later says: "She’s a Duracell battery, she was ever ready."

The music video was released just days before Louella died.

Her unsuspecting brother Samuel was even involved in the project, acting as director.

In a minute-long video, posted to YouTube yesterday, Broughton is seen walking around a forest, chillingly similar to the place Louella died.

At the beginning, the message "RIP Louella" flashes up on the screen.

Walking along the top of a waterfall and through a forest before sitting in the grass, Broughton sings the lyrics before bending down to pick a rock up out of a stream.

A discarded piece of material, that looks like a piece of clothing, floats by on the water.

After Broughton was found guilty, Louella’s heartbroken father, Holby City star John Michie, said: "Regardless of the outcome of this harrowing trial, there were never going to be any winners.

"We began our life sentence on what would have been Louella’s 25th birthday, Ceon’s life sentence is knowing he didn’t help Louella to live."

After the sentencing, he said: "I wake up every morning to face life starting again without Louella, our daughter, our sister, our friend, our family now broken.

"It makes no sense, our beautiful Louella should still be with us on any measure of humanity.

"No more yoga with my daughter, no more running round the outside of the Arsenal stadium with my daughter, no more family fun with my daughter, her life cut cruelly short."
