Christine McGuinness shares rare family photo as she reunites with her mum after eight months

Christine McGuinness reunited with her mum as lockdown began to ease and the star penned an emotional post.

The 33 year old mum-of-three updated her 532,000 Instagram followers after not seeing her mum for eight months amid the pandemic.

Christine’s mum was diagnosed with cancer last year and Christine looked delighted to be spending the day with her mum and children.

The blonde beauty, who is married to Paddy McGuinness, wrote: “We had the most magical day. It’s been 8 long months without seeing my mum, my babies extra special nanny! Today was just perfect.”

In the snap, Christine can be seen holding the hands of her three children and her mum as they walked across the garden.

The little girls wore floral red dresses, while Christine opted for a beautiful white crop top and matching trousers.

Updating her fans on her mum’s health battle, she continued in her caption: “Lots of you ask for updates on my mum, she has completed 6 months chemotherapy and is waiting for a start date for her radiotherapy. She has also had her first covid vaccine and is feeling pretty good within herself.

“My mum is unbelievably strong, doing this through lockdown and with a smile, she just amazes me!

And I know the hardest part of it all was being away from the kiddies. they just love her to the moon and stars and back.

Fans of the star were quick to say how glad they were that Christine was able to reunite with her mum.

“So glad you’re back together… is the best medicine,” wrote one, while another said: “Oh I am so so happy for you all.”

A third said: “What a beautiful photo of you with your kids and mum so beautiful hope you had a beautiful day. And its great news about your mum.”

Christine’s heartfelt Instagram post comes after she spoke about the heartbreak and joy of having autistic children.

“Whereas most toddlers start saying a few words, our twins were nonverbal until they were four,” Christine said.

She continued: “I desperately longed to hear them say “Mummy”, but got nothing. It upset me every time I went to school and saw another child run to their mum and give them a kiss and cuddle, because mine were off in their own little world.

“It fell into place when they were three-and-a-half and we got the diagnosis.

“Paddy took it hard and had some therapy. My attitude was, ‘This is what God’s given us, we love them and will raise them as best we can.’ I let off my steam at the gym. By 2016, our third child Felicity arrived.”
