Countdown legend Carol Vorderman took to social media last night after having a race named in her honour. The 60-year-old told fans she was “so excited” when she shared the news on Twitter.

Carol’s race will take place at the Ffos Las Racecourse in Wales tomorrow.

“I’ve been given my very own race on Thursday… so excited,” the TV and radio star wrote online, in view of her 467,300 followers.

“Have I mentioned I’ll be so excited to be there?” she added.

The mum-of-two also shared a tweet from the racecourse which included more details.

“How amazing,” one follower remarked in the comment section of the post.

“Brilliant well deserved lady!” another added.

“Any tips Carol??” a third person asked.

Earlier in the day, Carol made the most of the warm weather and enjoyed another paddleboarding session while on a break in Wales.

She posted a string of snaps from her outing which included a selfie and a picture of a seal which swam nearby.

“Went off for a lovely paddleboarding morning today… hooray… a seal was bobbing around by us and then followed us for a mile or more.

“So happy here,” she added.

One of the pictures showed the television star in a brightly-coloured wetsuit with tousled hair.

She wore a pair of tinted sunglasses as she sat in her car ahead of her swim in the sea.

Over the summer, Carol has been delighting her followers by sharing several sizzling holiday snaps.

She showcased her age-defying figure in a bikini earlier in this week.

Carol put on a busty display in a tiny red bikini top as she struck a pose while relaxing on the sofa.

She teamed her swimwear, which showcased her toned torso, with a pair of shorts.

“Summer’s back here [Welsh flag] I’m getting good at chilling…” Carol captioned the post.

“Do u ever age carol?” one social media user wrote alongside the picture.

“U look absolutely amazing carol!”(sic) another added.

“You are the Welsh version of Dame Helen Mirren, great figure and you get better with age,” a third fan chipped in.
