Beverley Callard, 63, responded to a fan on Twitter after they tweeted their condolences following the death of the actress’ dog Norman. The beloved canine companion died yesterday leaving the Coronation Street actress “absolutely heartbroken”, amid rumours that she is set to appear in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

Thank you

Beverley Callard

The fan tweeted: “Can’t wait to see you in the jungle!!!

“Hope you are ok saw a tweet about your dog it will get easier. I hope you are ok,”(sic) they added.

Beverley responded simply: “Thank you so much x,” failing to either confirm or deny she has signed up.

It comes after the soap star shared that her dog had died at 6am the previous day, aged only 15 months old.

The sudden loss has deeply upset the actress as she labelled him a “beautiful old soul” and thanked fans for the outpouring of support.

Beverly typed: “Our beautiful Norman died at 6am this morning. All the vets and nurses said, even though he was only 15 months, he had a beautiful old soul!

“We are absolutely heartbroken. A massive thank you for all the love you have all given to us!!!! Means so much.”

Various outlets have reported that Beverley will be part of this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up which also seemingly includes Sir Mo Farah and Shane Richie.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the contest will be held in Wales and the actress is reportedly being paid a whopping £125,000 to take part.

The ITV show will be filmed in the 200-year-old Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales, and the 12 stars heading to the location have reportedly been “revealed”.

Eastenders legend Shane, 56, has been a staple on British TV for years, and will reportedly head to the castle as Pantomimes aren’t happening this year.

A source told The Sun: “ITV have always wanted Shane for the jungle but with panto not happening this year and other work opportunities less likely, he decided this was the time to take the plunge.

“Going to North Wales is less of a huge commitment than flying halfway across the world, too, so he jumped at the chance.

“He’s already being talked about by production as an early favourite as he’s such a likeable bloke and known to millions of soap fans.

“ITV are delighted they’ve managed to convince him to take part.”

Meanwhile, Mo is also reported to be heading to Wales for the series.

The insider added: “Mo’s been a big fan of the show for years and was just waiting for the right time in his career to do it.

“He obviously has an excellent level of fitness and mental focus so will be great at the Bushtucker Trials and will be a positive addition for keeping up team morale for campmates.

“Especially as a lot of the celebs are worried about how cold it will be.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! begins November 15 on ITV.
