'And Just Like That…" Star Cynthia Nixon Opens Up About Removing Chris Noth's Finale Scene Following Sexual Assault Allegations

Chris Noth’s finale scene in And Just Like That… was cut after the Sex and the City actor was accused of sexual assault by several women. One of Noth’s co-stars, Cynthia Nixon, has commented on the removal of Noth’s scenes. Here’s what Nixon had to say.

Chris Noth’s ‘And Just Like That…’ finale scene was cut after the actor was accused of sexual assault by multiple women 

Actor Chris Noth reprised his role as Mr. Big in the premiere episode of And Just Like That…, the revival of Sex and the City. On Dec. 16, a week after the first episode’s release, The Hollywood Reporter published the stories of two women accusing Noth of sexual assault. 

Since then, more women have come forward with allegations against Noth. One of his former co-stars, Zoe Lister-Jones, publicly shared her experiences of Noth’s “consistently sexually inappropriate” behavior.

Chris Noth issued a statement to Us Weekly the same day The Hollywood Reporter story came out, saying that all “the encounters were consensual,” and the accusations against him “are categorically false.”

Although Mr. Big died in the premiere episode of And Just Like That…, Noth’s character was set to return for the season finale. According to TV Line, Carrie Bradshaw will go to Paris to scatter Mr. Big’s ashes in the final episode. There was supposed to be a scene where Noth’s character appears to Carrie one more time as a fantasy, but Noth’s part of the scene was cut after the sexual assault allegations.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon, who reprises her role as Miranda Hobbes in And Just like That…, recently shared her thoughts on the removal of Noth’s finale scene. 

When asked about that decision to cut Noth’s character from the final episode, Nixon told ET, “I think we were very lucky that those changes were able to be made and I think we are very proud of our show.”

A source told the publication that removing Noth from the finale was a collective decision made by the writers, producers, and cast.

The And Just Like That… actor previously shared her stance on Noth’s accusations in a joint statement with co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis.

On Monday, Dec. 20, the three women reacted to the news of Noth’s sexual assault allegations by posting the same words on each of their Instagram Stories. 

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth,” the stars wrote. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
