Manafort told ‘multiple lies’ about Trump contacts: Mueller

Special Counsel Robert Mueller said Paul Manafort told “multiple discernible lies” and had contact with Trump administration officials despite a plea agreement to cooperate with Mueller’s investigation.

Manafort lied in five different areas, including about his contact with Konstantin Kilimnik, a business associate with connections to Russian intelligence, according to the document filed by Mueller’s office Friday night.

Manafort falsely stated that he had no communication with anyone in the administration, the document states.

Mueller cites a “Manafort colleague” and electronic documents that show he was still in contact with a senior administration official through Feb 2018.

The former Trump campaign chief pleaded guilty in 2018 to two conspiracy counts and agreed to cooperate with Mueller’s office.

He broke that agreement, prosecutors alleged in the memo, by lying to their office about his contacts with the White House and a friend with connections to Russian intelligence.
