In the clip, captured in Windermere, Florida, loud banging noises can be heard coming from the back porch.

Cassey Rivers, 54, films as she investigates the unusual noise and is baffled to see a huge sandhill crane pecking at her window.

The big bird uses its long beak to tap at the windows and flaps its wings, seemingly thinking it can see another crane.

Ms Rivers asks: ‘What are you doing?’

She soon realises the crane is trying to fight – or perhaps make friends with – its own reflection in the glass.

‘Oh, that’s not your buddy. Do you see a picture of yourself in there?’, she says.

Ms Rivers pans the camera to her lawn where another crane is watching its friend hammering at the glass.

Her dogs run out to investigate and soon chases the bird away which flies to a nearby pond to join its friend.

Ms Rivers can be heard exclaiming: ‘Crazy birds! Y’all go on and bother some one else’.

The bizarre birds stand at the edge of the pond and can be heard cawing loudly at her in protest.

Ms Rivers said: ‘I was getting dressed in my bathroom when I heard a banging noise and I thought it must be the dogs’
