Jack Whitehall praised by viewers as he hosts The Graham Norton Show

Jack Whitehall has received praise during his one night only stint hosting The Graham Norton Show, with many calling for him to have his own chat show.

The 30-year-old comedian took over from Graham Norton on Friday (17 May), marking the first time the presenter has ever missed a show in over 20 years.

So where’s Graham? He’s flew over to Tel Aviv to prepare for the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final on Saturday 18 May.

Guests on Jack’s edition included Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, Luke Evans, David Walliams, Peter Crouch, with musical guest Sam Fender.

Jack is no stranger to hosting big events, having held together The Brit Awards on numerous occasions, so it’s perhaps unsurprising many viewers felt he’d done an excellent job stepping into Graham’s shoes.

Some were even calling for The Jack Whitehall Show, stat.

Not everyone was pleased though, with some saying Jack made them realise Graham’s lofty skills.

He has been doing it for over 20 years, to be fair.

You can catch Graham Norton back in the chair next week when The Graham Norton Show continues on Friday BBC One at 10.35pm.
