Today marks 125 years since the Blackpool Tower was built and to celebrate the milestone occasion Good Morning Britain’s weather presenter geared up to tell the weather suspended from the building.
Viewers saw the resident weather host scream due to fear of heights after she attempted to provide the forecast for the upcoming days, but struggled to control her emotions.
Emotions were then ramped up on the show when host Ben Shepherd told the fearsome presenter that her twin brother had sent in a message saying hat he was “proud of her” and that he “couldn’t believe she had done this”.
After the heartfelt message was read over the link, Laura was overwhelmed with emotion and bursting tears live on air saying: “That was such a nice message, that’s so nice of him”.
Susanna Reid defended Laura’s tears adding: “Oh it’s so unexpected, usually brothers aren’t very nice, just making jokes”.
However, the emotional weather forecast didn’t put fans off as they took to Twitter to show brave Laura their support.
One said: “You have more guts than me!”
Another shared: “I can’t believe it, remember when weather girls just read the weather.”
A third tweeted: “Your’e doing amazing Laura.”
Thankfully, Laura was able to control her tearful outburst and read the forecast for viewers whilst she showed a steep view of the ground.
Before adding: “Oh bloody hell. I can’t tell you how many swear words are on the tip of my tongue!”
Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
