Emmerdale airs Lisa Dingle's final scenes as the family is ripped apart

Emmerdale fans were left mourning a soap great tonight as the Dingle family were ripped apart after Zak (Steve Halliwell) found his beloved wife Lisa (Jane Cox) dead at home following a wedding day full of joy, love and laughter.

As Zak wept in the arms of his wife, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) arrived home to find out where they were and she was shattered, bursting into tears and saying it wasn’t fair as they were meant to have so much time left together.

News quickly spread and Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) made the sad announcement in the Woolpack, which was in full party swing. As the family reeled and tried to support one another, they all knew that life would never be the same again – and the episode also marked the end of Jane’s 23 years in the role.

Belle and Zak struggled to get their heads around things as the coroner took Lisa away forever and the family silently followed the vehicle as Lisa made her final journey away from the cottage she called home for so many years.

Viewers were left in pieces by the emotive scenes, which have changed the dynamic of the family forever.

How will the Dingles cope without Lisa, the glue that held them all together?
