14th December 2023

Michael Smith and Luke Humphries have joined forces to lobby for darts joining the Olympic roster.

As the Paddy Power PDC World Championship opens at London's Alexandra Palace on Friday, reigning champion 'Bully Boy' Smith and bookies' favourite Humphries say it's time to accommodate arrows at the Games – and not just in archery.

Smith protested: “There are lots of people out there who say darts is easy – listen, you get on stage in front of a crowd and show me you can hit a treble 20 without your a*** falling out.

Humphries said: “Part of the Internationl Olympic Committee's remit is to encourage expansion in sports, and if you look at where darts was 15 years ago compared to where it is now, it’s grown massively.
