BAFTA TV Awards 2019: Holly Willoughby and Tess Daly take lead on best dressed list

Some of the most well-known faces from the small screen arrived on the red carpet tonight, ahead of the 2019 BAFTA TV Awards – which also goes by the name Virgin Media BAFTA TV awards. Of course, the most important awards which will be unveiled tonight are those celebrating the fantastic work from the UK’s entertainment industry. However, while the world awaits to see who has scooped the prestigious gongs, followers of fashion may have paid a particular focus to the red carpet. What style trends were seen sported by stars tonight, and which looks really left an impression?

Spotted on the red carpet was radio DJ Clara Amfo, who wore a beautiful navy blue dress.

The garment featured a semi-sheer design, which featured navy blue striped panelling.

It also had flared cuffs which certainly made a stylish statement.

Holly Willoughby also stood out for all the right reasons, wearing a Maria Lucia Hohan blue dress.

The gown was semi-sheer, and featured a halterneck design.

The TV star co-presented I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for the first time last year, and tonight, the show is up for an award.

This year, the programme is a nominee in the category of the best reality and constructed factual show.

Ahead of her arrival on the red carpet, Holly took to Instagram to tell fans where her outfit was from.

Tess Daly also opted for a very stylish ensemble – stepping out in an all-red suit.

She teamed it with red patent pointed heels, as well as a red handbag.

No doubt winning the award for the most unexpected dress, Daisy May Cooper arrived in a gown made out of bin bags.

She told journalists at the event that the statement piece had been designed by her mum, and that money she would have spent on a dress was instead donated to a food bank.

The BAFTA TV Awards 2019 airs tonight on BBC One at 8pm.
